I bought these dolls before I had seen the Maleficent movie.  Sleeping Beauty was never my favorite story, though it was a favorite of my mother's.  I didn't get Maleficent.  She got miffed when she wasn't invited to a party, so she curses the king's child?  I felt a true villainess should not care if she was invited to a stupid party to see the king's blotchy, drooling newborn.  I preferred more action type stories like Alice in Wonderland and Robin Hood.

When I did see the Maleficent movie, I loved it...and Maleficent's motivations were a little more understandable.

Pictures don't accurately show doll.  My camera can't seem to capture the real colors of the dress.  Sorry.

I was very impressed with this doll, the Royal Coronation Aurora.  It was mainly the outfit, which is actually quite stunning.  Unfortunately, my camera can't quite pick up the colors well.  The dress is a golden yellow--which actually matches the doll's hair perfectly.  It is a heavy material, possibly a Brocade.  The dress has a floral print.  Most of the leaves and flowers are done in a slightly darker yellow thread.  There is some pink shading on the flowers that actually isn't done well.  I almost had a heart attack thinking I had transferred these splotches there, but that is how the fabric is.  I suspect that this material is an expensive Brocade, but it was one that was flawed--where the print had been messed up.  It was probably sold cheaply as a result.

The white ruffle of the dress is a stiff, Tulle-like fabric.  I  usually see this sort of thing sewn on underclothes of a doll.  The dress has golden, Lace-like trim around the neckline, waist, end sleeves, and the hem of the dress.  The dress has a sewn on train.  There is a VELCRO fastening in the back which will allow you to remove the dress.

Underneath the dress, the doll is wearing mustard colored high heels.  She has painted on white underwear.

On her head, the doll wears a golden plastic wreath crown.

The hair is the major flaw of this doll.  Fresh out of its box (and it was new), it is already a tangled mess.

I sew, and I know Brocades can be an expensive fabric.  At the cheapest, they are usually $9.99 a yard, but I've seen some that go up to $19.99 a yard.  Most of the money spent on manufacturing this doll probably went towards the dress.

In some shots, the doll looks like the actress that played Aurora.

My only complaint with the doll is the hair.  The hair is horrible.  Fresh out of box, it was already a tangled mess in the back where it had been in contact with the cardboard.  As I kept her out while doing reviews on her for the blog and my videos, the hair seemed to get more fly-away and tangled...losing its sheen.  I barely touched her.

I foresee a lot of used dolls being sold on ebay, and even if they have their dresses--the hair will be a mess.
