December 2013, I suffered from the worst depressive episode I had ever had.  It was so bad, I couldn't even feel any enthusiasm for the upcoming holidays.  I was so depressed, I didn't even want to try and help myself.  That was when I realized I had reached a new low.  I've been depressed before, but I always had an interest in trying to alleviate it. I figured it was due to my approaching the big 4-0.  Actually, I still have another year to go, but I've always been precocious.  I thought I was starting my mid-life crisis a few years early.  However, I realized that I needed to do something.  I would try one last time to conquer my negative thinking by willpower, but if that failed, I would go to a psychiatrist. This is a recipe I put together one day with what I had around the house.  I call it Northern Teriyaki Steak because I use vegetables that are popular in the North:  zucchini and yellow squash.  Be warned that some people have an allergic reaction to zucchini...or at least a sensitivity to it.  Some people experience embarrassing bowel problems.  I'm sorry to bring up something gross when I'm talking about food, but I thought that I should warn you...if you've never had zucchini before, don't try it when you have somewhere to go and are not going to have access to a bathroom.  Many times, if I don't have zucchini, I substitute cucumber...but I would not recommend that in this particular recipe.  If you don't have it, just use the yellow squash. When I first saw this, I found it depressing.  Still, it is a thought provoking message. I was angry this morning, and it snapped me out of it quick.  I'm not wasting anymore jellybeans!

I like these people.  Aside from making me laugh, it also makes me think, "Hey! Good point! Why didn't they do that?  Oh, yeah...we wouldn't have had a movie."
