I remember seeing the Darth Vader 31 inch figure at Target a year or so ago. It was definitely impressive. At the time, though, I was disappointed in the limited movement and the realization that the figure didn't do anything.
Target recently had a clearance sale. The shock storm trooper was now $17.99, where it had been $29.99. I thought this was a good buy. People usually love storm troopers. For a long time, I didn't know why. They were all identical and had limited dialogue in the original trilogy. However, I developed an appreciation for the clone troopers after I became a fan of the 2008 Star Wars The Clone Wars cartoon, which started introducing different clones. Though all identical in appearance, they each had their unique personalities and abilities.
I originally bought this to sell. However, when I got him, I decided I wanted to keep him. Of course, I'm not sure why really. He is fun to pose, though I admit I was disappointed in the limitations. I would have liked it if his elbows and knees could bend.
There are these small holes in the lower torso right above his belt. I thought at first he was a speaking toy, but this does not seem to be the case.
I don't know if the gun can be removed. His left hand is crooked like he could hold a weapon in that hand too.
What the thing is with me is that I'm a recovering avid collector. My former collection had gotten so big that I ran out of shelves to put all my dolls and figures on. They were sitting on my floor, and I decided that things were getting too crazy. I've been selling my collection.
Still, I have the heart of a collector. I'm trying to be more choosy, though. I loved the Disney Animator doll Elsa, so I kept her. I like this guy too. I guess, though, I keep questioning myself because I fear of falling back into old habits.
I've decided, though, that Elsa needs a daddy. This toy can be both for decoration and for play. However, it will rely on your imagination more...because he doesn't come with bells and whistles. He can come to your tea party and even hold a cup (though he won't be able to sit down). However, you are going to have to supply the conversation because there are no buttons with programmed sayings to push.
I've had a lot of fun with posing him, though...as you can see from the pictures.
